Move with the Elements of Dance

Move with the Elements of Dance is a new traveling exhibit that gets visitors moving with the elements of dance: body, effort, space, and relationship.

This exhibit is about using your whole body to feel, think, and create. People of all ages and abilities can join in guided movement challenges (also in ASL), make obstacle courses, dance with props, act out stories, and more.

Through these fun and engaging activities, children learn what amazing instruments their bodies are. Our bodies help us share ideas, show our feelings, and move through the world. When kids explore different elements of dance, they become even more expressive and connected to themselves and others.

In this exhibit, kids learn about:

Body – What is moving?
Effort – How are you moving?
Space – Where are you moving?
Relationship – With whom are you moving?

By playing with these elements, kids get firsthand experience of how dancing helps the brain and body work together, strengthens coordination, and makes you feel great physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Get ready to learn, create, and—most importantly—dance!
